Our goal at Skinner and Associates is to provide understandable, practical, efficient intellectual property, employment and mediation solutions and advice to our clients.

We practice exclusively in the fields of intellectual property, employment and mediation law. Intellectual property law includes patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, unfair competition and technology transfer law. Within this field, we concentrate on domestic and international acquisition, maintenance and management of intellectual property rights for our clients. We do not engage directly in intellectual property litigation. However, we have relationships with litigation specialists for enforcement and defense of our client’s intellectual property rights. We also have long standing relationships with intellectual property agents and attorneys in many other countries for protection of our client’s interests both inside and outside the US. Employment law includes a variety of employer and employee issues including compliance, employer defense litigation, mediation, agreements, non-compete situations, company policies, employee handbooks, and discrimination issues. Mediation is a means of resolving a dispute or other problem by relatively informal negotiation.

Skinner and Associates’ clients are located throughout the US and in many foreign countries. We have a particular interest in assisting clients located in Northwestern Wisconsin and Eastern Minnesota. We represent a variety of emerging and established businesses and individuals. Our technology clients work in a variety of fields including packaging, automation, human and veterinary medical technology, telecommunications, and consumer and industrial products. Our trademark clients market and sell a variety of specialty, industrial, and consumer goods and services. Our copyright clients are active in literary, musical, performance, graphic, pictorial, sculptural, audiovisual, software, and architectural arts. And our employment and mediation clients also represent a variety of fields and interests.
